Web Editor-in-Chief - Jade Thomas
BlackBoard was the first publication I ever wrote for way back in freshman year, so I hold its legacy and mission near and dear to my heart! I'm excited to be one of many facilitators of hopefully very exciting and impactful discussions over the next few months!

Assistant Editor-in-Chief - Mariam Fofana
Hi there! As the assistant editor-in-chief of Blackboard Magazine, I play a significant role in shaping our editorial vision and ensuring our content is in its best form. On that same token, I joined Blackboard because I wanted to actively be a part of an organization that highlights and celebrates Black culture, perspectives, and experiences (especially in the written word form).
This year, my goals are to bridge the gap between our writers and artists, embolden different voices within our community, and expand our reach through innovative digital content. I’m excited to help create an engaging space where our readers can see themselves reflected and inspired!

Happy to call myself creative writing editor! I’m excited to build a robust online presence for creative writing that publishes across as many genres and mediums as possible.

As Photo editor, I organize all things related to photoshoots. Including organizing models, creating a mood board and organizing the photo layout in the magazine! My goal is to grow the art side of Blackboard and create a space where black creative feel themselves represented and free to create art.

Social Media & Marketing Manager - Maddy Morgan
My role in BlackBoard includes contributing to our marketing efforts and writing stories. My goal for this year is to keep writing and expand the beats I cover. This will be my first year on the marketing team, so I'm excited to see fun and creative ideas come into fruition.

Managing & Finance Director - Aida Belay
As Managing & Finance director, I want to ensure that BlackBoard Magazine is properly funded to support its needs and to enhance visibility. We mainly focus on fundraising and marketing efforts while brainstorming creative ways to expand outreach and raise money. I joined Blackboard as it serves as a safe space for Black students to collaborate creatively and uplift each other. While an online magazine is great, having funding for print editions allows for students to have a deeper, concrete connection with the content.
